At the request of Ma’am Jess Yazon, Sir Martin presented the project’s roots and successes to the entire PSHS faculty. It was generally well received and we hope this breaks the limit of what we know is possible in the classroom — by going beyond!

What follows is the PowerPoint delivered, with insights into the genesis of the project and some reflections at the very end.

In March 2007, Sir Martin and his students unveiled an ambitious project for the very first time — the Pisay Meets World. It was a cascade of online student projects that answers the theme, “What can the world expect from the Pisay scholar in the future?”

The following podcast discusses the origins of this project.

On the night of March 14, some bloggers got wind of the Pisay Meets World project. Over the next 24 hours, it became a popular meme among Pinoy bloggers all over. And the best part? They’re not even from Pisay!

Special thanks goes to Ma’am Dine Racoma for being so passionate in letting the world know about PMW. Indeed, this activity has been a successful experiment at using the power of the internet to spread the message that indeed, our youth remain our country’s pride and future!
